Home owners who have moved from Oil furnace to heat pumps, do you feel that switch was worth it? I have a oil fired forced air system and have been mostly debating and unsure about switching. We had our furnace replaced in April, so this is it's first winter. It's an oil burning system with a brand new Carrier furance and Beckett burner. For the past few weeks, the burner has been going into lockout mode at least once a day, sometimes 2 or 3 times, and usually over night. It's easy enough to restart, but it doesn't seem normal. We currently have an oil furnace that we want to convert to propane. We recently got heatpumps so we hardly use the furnace, but we have propane already on our property for our generator and stove. We mistakenly thought that our propane company (superior propane) would be able to do this for us but they don't so I need to find a company that can do this. Has anyone had this done in the city and can recommend a company?

With all this snow melting it left me with a little flood in my basement. It's all cleaned up now but I noticed my oil furnace is off so I immediately panicked and thought it got wet so I hit the restart button for a minute or so and it started right up. Now my vents that the heat flows through started making some weird noises so I turned it off. I'm thinking my flame is not igniting or something? I have NO idea about Hvac.
