hi, I have a problem with my yamaha f2.5bms. the engine often leaks oil and then there is a puddle of oil on the water. but I would like to get rid of the leak. now I have read that it is bad to lay the engine down with the tiller handle up, otherwise oil can get into the cylinder. This motor was transported in the car with the tiller handle up. and I suspect it is oil in the cylinder. how can I best solve this? Hey everyone. Have a 2004 Yamaha 60hp 4-stroke that's had issues with cold starts ever since I purchased my boat a month or so ago. I don't see it as a critical failure since the engine works like butter once it's warm, but there's something up with cold crank and throttle/acceleration when cold. **Cold crank issue**: The engine seems to turn over and want to pee a bit of water, but once the starter thinks the engine has turned over, the engine seems to be making a noise that's ...

**TL;DR:** I took my 06 vstar 650 to the garage to get the carb cleaned and rebuilt, even after that the carb is no good. I bought the bike in 2015 for $3,000. Mechanic quoted me $1,000 for a new carb. I don't really think its worth replacing. Mechanic said aftermarket isn't really an option with this. Pure oil dripping from carbs. Trying to think of what I can do to troubleshoot it. The engine still runs fine but it’s very smoky and the dripping seems to be slowly getting worse. I believe it’s a VRO fuel/oil pump. Do I just replace it and hope for the best? Any thoughts/ideas? Reddit has been helpful in the past, maybe someone can help me with a technical question: I just got my Yamaha Virago 535 2YL (1991) back from the workshop where they changed the carburetor. Since I got it back, the rotational speed is much higher than before when in idle and the engine gets very hot after only a few minutes. Also, I took the bike on a ride today on the highway - maximum speed was 110-120 km/h, while before the repairs it was 150-160 km/h. The reason why I had the carburetor c...
Yamaha outboard carburetor diagram. Backstory: Water got into the fuel tank and stalled the motor out at sea. We pumped out all the gasoline, cleaned the spark plugs changed oil and fuel filters. We got it to start on starter fluid. The motor stalls at idle. However giving it some gas it will rev up and hold RPM, but rough. If anyone can help me brainstorm some ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. He said when the engine is running like this it’s also not getting any oil for lubrication, and not to run it like this. Well did I scratch the cylinders by driving back to the landing like this? I had the throttle all the way down while it had half its power for about 5 minutes to get back. I think one of the cylinders might have stopped due to lack of fuel. The motor had not been cranked in 2 years and was stored inside. Attempted to crank the motor and it would turn over but would not run. Compression is good in all cylinders. I was using an auxiliary fuel tank with new gas. I suspected there was a loss of pressure in the VST. I had a spare VST so I swapped it out. After swapping, the motor cranked perfectly and idled for several minutes on the ear muffs. After turning the motor off for an hour, ...
